Tips on How to attempt various questions in PTE for 100% result (79+)

Practice with right approach is the only key thing that can help you crack PTE. Practising these Tricks have helped me in scoring 90 in each section. 

Speaking - Maintain your normal speed and loudness. Do not try to fake it.
  1. Read Aloud
    Read with proper pauses, intonation, and stress
    Better to group a few words together
    Keep your natural rhythm
    Practice before actually answering in the exam itself before recording begins. Speak loudly. Practice difficult words.
    Do not stop or repeat words if you fumble in between.
    Maintain fluency and clarity - Most important
  2. Repeat Sentence
    Listen for phrases in the sentence
    Copy the emphasis in the sentence
    If you miss few last words that is okay.

  3. Describe Image
    U need to use this Pattern to answer:
    Introduce the Image
    Explain Key Features
    Conclude

    Introduce Image - This graph represents the Title + X-axis or as appropriate for the given image (10 seconds) - like 
         The image shows, the horizontal graph shows, the pie chart shows, the picture shows etc.
    Key Features - Most noticeable features and smooth talk (20 seconds) - like image shows - sharp increase, gradual decline, read things written on side of graph, source of information, what is X and Y axis showing.
    Conclusion - start with word "Overall" or "In Conclusion", single sentence (10 seconds)
    Note: Oral Fluency is more important than Content. You can repeat sentence twice or thrice as well but should be separated by some other sentence.
  4. Retell Lecture
    Make note of key points quickly (more important is keywords/names/year/percentages/any other factual data
    Get the gist of the lecture
    Speak at least 5 sentences
    Use arrows & symbols in the Notes to indicate order or flow
    Speak fluently and with correct pronunciation
    Start with "The speaker said or the lecturer said/delineated'
      Fluency matters the most.
      The speak everything that you have written with names facts etc.
      In the end, say - to conclude or overall and speak one or two sentences.
      Don't bother about information being repeated or you forgot to say something. It is fluency that will help u. Speak on Normal tone and pace that you have.
  5. Answer Short Questions
    Be Precise
    Answer in 1 - 3 words
    Listen carefully
    If you don't recall the word, say aaaaaaaaah - this can help u keeping the mike on (as after 3 seconds, mike will go off)

Writing
  1. Summarize Written Text
    Identify Key Points or key concept of the text
    Use FANBOY connector words. FANBOY = For,And,Nor,But,Or,Yet
    use while, whereas, however etc as well
    Strictly less than 70 words ideally 50 -52 words strictly. No less than 47 words.
    One sentence only
    Use max of two commas
    Start with Capital and end with full stop
    Strictly use some good words - use synonyms of what is written in the text provided. Do not use same words. Do not repeat anything.

    1. Multiple Choice, Choose Single Answer
      Read and Understand the Question first
      Read Passage and Understand
      Choose YOUR Answer and Eliminate other incorrect Answers
    2. Multiple Choice, Choose Multiple Answers
      Has Negative Marking
      Can have 2 or 3 correct options - Choose wisely and don't push yourself

      Read Question and Understand
      Read Passage with Focus and Understand
      Eliminate Answers and Choose the right options
      Choose one answer that you are 1000% sure.
      Choose the second answer only when you are 2000% sure else leave it.
      Choose third correct answer only when you are 10000000000% sure.
      First correct answer will yield you 1 point but second wrong answer will take that away. It's better to earn than to give that away. Remember getting emotional in exam can cost you an attempt.
    3. Re-order Paragraphs
      Search for Heading/Topic Sentence that stands alone
      Check Proper Nouns-Common nouns-Pronoun-Articles Usage-Time Phrases order to re-order the sentences.
      Proper Nouns - Atlantic Ocean, Walt Disney, etc
      Common Nouns - Man, Mountain, etc
      Pronoun - He, She, They, Them, etc
      Articles Usage - a, an, the. "The" refers to a noun already introduced earlier
      Time Phrases - Passive voice refers back to another sentence
      Other Phrases - However, Moreover, Although, Also, etc

      Use the following strategy:
      Line 1: Subject is followed by an object.
      Line 2: Object of line 1 becomes the subject of line 2 and is followed by an object.
      Line 3: Object of line 2 becomes the subject of line 3 and is followed by an object and so on.

      This is a full proof strategy and will help you re-order paragraphs.
    4. Fill in the Blanks (Both Reading\Writing)
      Skim through the Passage first
      Concentrate on parts of speech before and after the Blank
      Practice Collocations

    Listening
    1. Summarize Spoken Text
      Start writing with "The speaker said/delineated..."
      Other tips same as Re-tell Lecture

      Make note of key points quickly

      Stay focused till the end
      Use elimination strategy
      DO NOT INVENT THINGS - WHAT IS TOLD IN LECTURE SHOULD BE IN SENTENCE - DO NOT INFER MEANINGS YOURSELF or FROM YOUR OWN KNOWLEDGE.
    3. Multiple Choice, Choose Multiple Answers
      Has Negative Marking - be cautious
      Read question before audio starts
      Stay focused till the end
      Use elimination strategy
      DO NOT INVENT THINGS - WHAT IS TOLD IN LECTURE SHOULD BE IN SENTENCE - DO NOT INFER MEANINGS YOURSELF or FROM YOUR OWN KNOWLEDGE.
    4. Highlight Correct Summary
      Write down in notepad
      Understand what is conveyed by speaker
      Use elimination method
      In general, the answer with many details is wrong one. Use this tip only when you can’t understand at all.
    5. Fill in the Blanks
      Quickly use mouse to click on the first fill in the blanks if you intend to type else
      Note down in notepad
      Use Tab key to jump to next blank instead of a mouse.
      Carefully listen to nouns - singular/plural?
      Take care of Spellings. The answer is Wrong if Spelling is wrong.
    6. Select Missing Word
      Straightforward listening and following each word that is on screen.
      Listen Carefully.
      Get the Gist of the speaker.
    7. Highlight Incorrect Words
      Single Left Mouse Click on the Incorrect Word. Use the mouse to click and highlight the word as the speaker speaks the wrong word. Double click will remove your selection.
      Be Quick as the speaker can be fast at times.
    8. Write Dictation
      Use Notepad or Type, whichever is more comfortable.
      Start with Capital and End with the Full stop.

      Different strategies:
      Write the first letter of each word spoken
      or Write first two words quickly and remember others
      write everything on notepad
      Remember everything.

      Do whichever way you like but every wrong spelling will cost you big so be careful.
